The Potomac Conservancy has a program to promote the use of rain gardens in order to catch and filter rainwater before it goes into storm drain or stream system.

 

ACE has a program called Backyard Habitats which promotes the planting of native species instead of grass in order to create natural ecosystems right in our neighborhoods.
